Ayat Younis is a first-year of the UVA HerCampus chapter and is on the writing team.
In addition to being a part of HerCampus, Ayat is a staff writer for UVA's [in]Visible Magazine. She is also a part of Students for Justice in Palestine, the UVA Fencing Club, Let's Get Books Together, and the Muslim Student Association. In high school, she founded and served as Editor-In-Chief of "The Apex," her high school's first literary magazine. Over the summer, Ayat was a writer for Affinity Magazine and iFeminist Organization, highlighting women in history and the disparities women today continue to face.
Currently, Ayat is a psychology major on a pre-med track, and intends to minor in English Literature. In her free time, Ayat enjoys listening to Taylor Swift, rewatching Gossip Girl, and reading romance novels + their film adaptations
