Ava Mata

Ava Mata is a first-year member of the social media committee and a writer for Her Campus at Texas A&M University from San Antonio, TX. She is excited to write about her favorite places, experiences, music, and everything in between. As a member of the social media committee, she is also ecstatic to contribute to the most aesthetically pleasing feed on Instagram and have an excuse to keep TikTok downloaded.

Outside of Her Campus, Ava is pursuing a degree in biochemistry. She is currently involved in an all-women’s organization on campus and is excited for all of the opportunities to come. Though this is her first year writing for Her Campus, she cannot wait to grow as a writer and step into this new role while learning from everyone around her while enjoying every article about every possible interest.

When she’s not studying in the library, Ava enjoys baking (especially cookies), trying new coffee shops, yoga, concerts, crafting, eccentric shops, and hanging out with friends; even if it means driving hours to see them. She also really enjoys traveling and would love to one day write about all of her new experiences while traveling the globe in her twenties.
