I am a writer for the Pitt chapter of Her Campus, and I am interested in writing articles on politics, social phenomena, drag culture, and current makeup and fashion trends.
In January '25, I wrote a profile on Anemia Blunt-Young, a Pittsburgh-based drag queen, which was subsequently posted on her social media. Although I have not written any political pieces, I hope to do so, as I am majoring in Political Science with a focus on American Politics. I hope to continue journalism into my political career, specifically covering immigration and civil rights-based phenomena. I've always enjoyed writing in the creative world, and I think that it is one of the most powerful ways to convey the feeling and importance of issues to specific groups of people.
Other than politics and writing, I am very drawn to music, specifically singing and playing guitar. I also love attending drag performances, broadway shows, and concerts; I've seen Olivia Rodrigo, Meghan Trainor, and The Indigo Girls, to name a few. I also love to draw, go out to coffee or dinner with my friends, and just be spontaneous with my friends here at Pitt!
