Getting Off Social Media: How It Helped Alleviate My Sadness and Depression

Nowadays, it’s common to be part of at least one social media platform. Be it Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, Twitter or even Tiktok, you’re considered other-worldly if you’re not completely immersed in at least one of them. Not only does social medial affect mentla health but it’s addictive - and that’s a fact. No really, its a fact . During a talk at Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business, Chamath Palihapitiya, Facebook’s former vice president for user growth stated, “I feel tremendous guilt… I think we have created tools that are ripping apart the social fabric of how society works,” he then went on to say that his children “aren’t allowed to use that sh*t”.

  • 6 Things To Be Thankful For During This Holiday Season (and in the midst of the pandemic!)

Often times we find ourselves complaining and agonising over certain situations in our lives and even more so now due to the global pandemic. 5 Ways to Make Friends While Going to School Online

To say that things have changed ever since the COVID-19 pandemic would be an understatement. Almost everything is now being done online, including school, and it’s like living in a digital dystopia that no one other than sci-fi nerds ever really asked for. So, it can definitely feel lonely and isolating not being able to interact with as many people as we are used to. Even the best of introverts feel the effects of being so well…alone. Therefore, in this article we’re going to be discussing 5 ways to make friends while going to online-school.

  • The Silent Christian Genocide of the 21st Century

In April of 2019, the interim report of the Independent Review into the global persecution of Christians was released indicating that the persecution of Christians in parts of the world is at near “genocide” levels. The report, which was ordered by the former Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt and led by the Bishop of Truro the Right Reverend Philip Mounstephen, estimated that one in three people suffer from religious persecution and that Christians were the most persecuted religious group in the world.

How Jesus Found me in my Dorm Room

For many college students, giving your life to Christ and becoming a Christian sounds like the worst most boring thing that could ever happen to you. When you’re a freshman there are stars in your eyes. You’re most likely in a new city, in a new place and away from all authority so, naturally, your first priority isn’t exactly to live holy. You’re more so concerned about the next rave, party, event or society meet-up and I was no different. In my first year, I enjoyed going out, going to parties and “YOLO-ing” just as much as the next girl. But the thing is, I was never truly happy.
