Hey! My name is Arianna and I’m a chemistry undergraduate student at the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez, pursuing a minor in Cognitive Science. I’ve always been curious about how things work, which has led me to explore different areas of science Through my studies, I’ve had the opportunity to participate in scientific research and gain experience working in laboratory settings, which has strengthened my love for learning and discovery.
My academic interests lie at the intersection of chemistry, neuroscience, and medicine. I hope to eventually pursue an MD and become a physician. I’m especially interested in neurology and surgery, and I’m passionate about learning more about the brain and finding ways that scientific research can improve people’s lives. I also enjoy sharing my experiences as a young woman in STEM and encouraging others to pursue their own interests in science.
Outside of academics, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, discovering new places and experiences, and learning about topics that spark my curiosity. I’m someone who is always looking for opportunities to grow, whether that means trying something new, challenging myself academically, or simply stepping outside of my comfort zone.
