Hi! My name is Anna Grant, and I am a Sophmore at University of Illinois Urbana - Champaign, studying Psychology with a Business minor. Psychology has always intrigued me and been a driving source of thought in my everyday life. It ties into all aspects of every major, but personally, I find it most interestingly applies to Business, which is why I am pursuing this as my minor.
With a big interest in Fashion Marketing and Journalism, in my articles I aspire to write about current fashion trends whether they be micro, or currently taking over the internet and spreading all over college campuses. I take inspiration from girls I walk by on the way to class, niche and upcoming artists, as well as the people closest to me. Incorporating my creativity and openness into my writing as well as spreading my personal thoughts on stylistic choices by college women is my passion, and I hope to bring many new ideas to Her Campus.
As interested as I am in Women's fashion, I am just as passionate about mental health. Studying psychology has made me much more aware of how our brain functions and how big of an impact social media has on young women's body image and self-esteem. I think it is detrimental that we change the current stereotypes about what is wrong/right about a woman's body or sense of self, and start to impliment healthy portrayals of what it is to embrace every part of yourself.
