My name is Anna McLaughlin Spielmann, and I’m currently a freshman at the College of the Holy Cross, Class of 2029. I graduated from Needham High School, where I was an honor roll student, a member of the National Honor Society, and the recipient of the Rebecca H. Perry Scholarship for service and leadership.
Outside the classroom, I developed strong communication and leadership skills through work and mentoring. At Abbott’s Frozen Custard, I was promoted to independently run and close the store while training new employees. I also taught group and private tennis lessons at the Waterville Valley Tennis Center, worked as a babysitter, and served as a peer tutor in my high school’s Writing Center. These experiences taught me how to adapt quickly, take responsibility, and connect with people of all ages.
Service has always been important to me. I volunteered with Top Soccer and Unified Basketball in my hometown of Needham, where I enjoyed building a sense of community while supporting children and peers with diverse abilities. Through Generic Ministry in Boston, I helped lead a branch at my school that provided resources and support for the homeless community. In my free time, I enjoy baking, traveling, playing tennis, spending time outdoors, and continuing to learn sign language. I’m excited to join, learn from, and contribute to Her Campus at Holy Cross!
