Hi! My name is Anna Grant, and I am a Sophmore at University of Illinois Urbana - Champaign, studying Psychology with a Business minor. Psychology has always intrigued me and been a driving source of thought in my everyday life. It ties into all aspects of every major, and personally, I find it most interestingly applies to Business, which is why I am pursuing this as my minor.
With a big interest in Fashion Marketing and Journalism, in my articles I aspire to write about current fashion trends whether they be micro-trends, or currently taking over the internet and spreading all over college campuses. I take inspiration from girls I walk by on the way to class, niche and upcoming artists, as well as the people closest to me.
Not only is fashion a big interest of mine, but learning about how our mind perceives and processes the world around us in my psychology classes has broadened my interest in mental health, especially for young girls. Social media and unrealistic standards have increased mental health issues in women, and through my writing I would like to promote healthy coping mechanisms that I have used throughout my life. Incorporating my creativity and openness into my writing as well as spreading my personal thoughts on stylistic choices by college women is my passion, and I hope to bring many new ideas to Her Campus.
