Miami '29

Alouna Alincy is a first-generation college student at the University of Miami, where she is pursuing a B.S.B.A in Economics and Sustainable Business, along with a minor in art. Born and raised in South Florida, Alouna comes from a Haitian and Dominican background that has shaped her appreciation for culture, community, and creativity. Her educational goals are driven by a desire to understand how business and economic development can create greater access to opportunities for underserved communities.

Professionally, Alouna has gained extensive experience through her work with the Economic Development Council of St. Lucie County. As the organization’s first high school intern, she contributed to research, marketing, business outreach, and workforce development initiatives. Her work has included assisting with Opportunity Zone nominations, creating spreadsheets used to track economic development incentives and job growth data, producing digital content, and supporting an internship program that connects students with paid professional opportunities. She has also represented the organization through public speaking engagements, radio appearances, and published media features. At the University of Miami, she is involved with Women in Business and serves on the executive board of Caribico as a marketing officer.

Outside of academics and professional development, Alouna is passionate about fashion, photography, videography, ceramics, and sewing. She began teaching herself video editing through Adobe After Effects at a young age and continues to explore different forms of visual storytelling. She also enjoys attending social events, discovering new restaurants, analyzing music, traveling, and meeting people from different backgrounds. In the future, Alouna hopes to combine her interests in business, art, and community development while continuing her education and eventually earning an advanced degree.
