Hello, my name is Alana Cannon and I’m a sophomore Finance major from Teaneck, New Jersey. I enjoy studying Finance because it helps me understand how money can create opportunities and drive change, but I also have a strong interest in Marketing, particularly in the entertainment industry. I love the idea of blending financial knowledge with creativity and strategy, and I hope to one day pursue a career where I can bring both passions together.
I come from a big Barbadian family with lots of siblings, and spending time with them is one of the most important parts of my life. Whether it’s watching TV together, sharing laughs, or simply hanging out, my family keeps me grounded and motivated. I also swam competitively for three years on my varsity team, which taught me discipline, teamwork, and resilience. Beyond school and athletics, I enjoy cooking, doing hair, and finding new ways to express myself. Being an autistic person is also a meaningful part of who I am—it shapes my creativity, how I connect with others, and the unique perspective I bring to everything I do.
Outside of academics, I enjoy exploring athletic content, keeping up with entertainment trends, and spending quality time with loved ones. I’d describe myself as creative, compassionate, and resilient, always looking for opportunities to grow and inspire others.
