My name is Adonna Jackson, and I am currently a student at Bowie State University, where I am majoring in Communications with a concentration in Broadcast Journalism. I previously completed dual enrollment coursework at Prince George’s Community College, which helped prepare me for the next level of my education. At Bowie State, I stay actively involved on campus and take pride in being the 2026–2027 Social Media Director for Her Campus at Bowie State. Through this role, I create content, manage engagement, and help represent the voice of college women on campus. I am passionate about storytelling and media, and I plan to use my education to build a career as a sports broadcaster.
Outside of academics, I am very involved in athletics and media. I run track and cross country, and being part of a team has taught me discipline, consistency, and how to motivate others. I also have experience in sports media, including taking photos for football and other athletic teams and interviewing athletes. These opportunities have helped me build confidence in front of the camera and strengthened my communication skills, especially as I continue working toward my long-term goals in broadcasting.
Beyond school and sports, I enjoy creative activities like making bracelets and waist beads, which allow me to express myself in a different way. I am also actively involved in my church as a teen leader, where I focus on uplifting and guiding others. I am passionate about women’s rights and using my voice to support and empower others. Overall, I would describe myself as outgoing, driven, and committed to growing into the best version of myself while inspiring the people around me.
