My name is Abigail Chesman, and I am a freshman Television, Photography, and Digital Media major at Ithaca College. Here, I am honing my storytelling skills and collaborating with creative individuals from diverse backgrounds through my work on ICTV as a social media manager, on WICB, where I host the Best of Broadway and Jazz Impressions, and on The Ithacan, as a photographer. I am also giving back to the community in my volunteer work as a Park Scholar with Finger Lakes ReUse.
I am thrilled to be the secretary of HCIC this upcoming semester and love being part of such an incredible community of creative women.
I am also an award-winning director and cinematographer with a lifelong passion for the arts and community service. My debut narrative short, The Window, was created during the summer of 2023 at Berridge Programs in Normandy, France. The Window has been screened at the Washington DC Independent Film Forum, where it received an honorable mention, won the White Lion award in the short narrative category at the Golden Lion Awards, was awarded the Best Student Film, Best Young Actor, and Best Women in Film awards from the Washington DC International Film Festival, and was an official selection for the Seattle Film Festival, the Reel Independent Film Festival, and the 1:11 High School Film Festival.
I hope to inspire change with my work and leave a mark on the world through film and media.
