My Three Big Goals for Summer 2022

As we near the end of the semester and begin to enter the summer months, I have often thought about what my goals are for summer 2022. I have a tropical vacation planned as well as a study abroad month, so I am definitely going to be a busy girl. However, I want to still be able to focus on my personal goals the next few months. These three goals are what I am going into this summer with, and I am hoping to positively accomplish them all.

Goal 1: Drink More Water

I’m sure this one shocks you, seeing as every girl ever wants to drink more water. But I can’t help it, it is so important to have a big water intake each day. Some days I overload myself on water, and others I barely drink two cups. I guess what I want to do is become more consistent with drinking a large amount of water each day.

I have multiple water bottles that I use frequently, but not all the time. In order to accomplish this goal, I know that I need to always have a water bottle with me. I also need to be diligent about keeping that water bottle full of water.

Goal 2: Stay Consistent with my Skin Exfoliation and Hydration

Recently, I have realized that I majorly slacked on putting lotion on my body. As in, since I was too old for my mom to lather me up, I haven’t been. It wasn’t until a few months ago that I began to think about the fact that I rarely, and I mean very rarely, use lotion. Embarrassing, I know. With that being said, I have made it a priority to use lotion on my whole body before bed at least three times a week. Exfoliating my body with sugar scrubs in the shower has also been a favorite thing of mine to be doing. I do this less- maybe twice a week.

For this goal, I really just want to keep up with the habit I have going. I don’t want to get off track and begin to forget about taking care of my body’s skin. Face skincare is something that I love and am good at. Body skincare is where I have been slacking. Especially with my summer being so full of sunshine, I have to make sure I properly hydrate my skin.

Goal 3: Don’t Let Insecurities Win

Summertime is full of bikinis, crop tops and shorts. I am a person who loves all of these, and I honestly hate being uncomfortably hot in the sun. But, there is always that part of me that begins to feel insecure and nervous about how I look. I hate this, as it’s not even my own thoughts, it’s just what I’ve been accustomed to hearing from society. Unfortunately, this isn’t uncommon as a girl today.

I’m not naive enough to think that insecure thoughts and feelings will not happen at all this summer, but I hope to not let them consume me. I don’t want to ruin a whole day based on my thoughts that my thighs jiggle too much. Summer is a time to feel as carefree as possible, and bashing myself is not a way to do that.

I am so excited to focus on myself and my personal goals this summer, and I hope you can do the same!
