Why you should create a summer bucket list

With the end of the semester approaching, everyone is starting to think about summer. Whether you’re working, taking summer classes, or just using the time to relax, I think everyone should think about making a bucket list.

Sometimes creating checklists can help us stay organized and task-orientated, and even though most people use checklists for work or school, I think making one for fun would also be great. With a summer bucket list, you can keep track of things that you want to do and you will also feel accomplished once you check off each activity.

Your bucket list does not have to consist of extravagant trips or expensive outings. It could include some simple things that will make you happy. Here are a few ideas:

  1. Visit a Museum
  2. Have a summer themed photoshoot outside
  3. Host a movie night
  4. Go thrift shopping
  5. Go kayaking
  6. Visit and shop at a small business
  7. Go to a farmer’s market
  8. Have a picnic
  9. Spend a whole day in pajamas
  10. Go hiking

Even though many of these things seem simple, we often forget to do them or get distracted by other things. By making the list, you can force yourself to work towards checking all of the activities off. Also, many of these things can be done alone! It may feel weird at first, but you may find comfort in spending time alone and doing things that you enjoy.

Whether you decide to make a bucket list or not, try to enjoy the summer and engage in activities that bring you joy! Soak up the sun, listen to music, eat ice cream, and more. Whatever you do, do it with peace and love. <3
