What to Pack When Your Spring Break is Also A Business Trip

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Lasell chapter.

During our spring break this year, a few of my fellow students in my major and I went to Las Vegas for spring break. When we were there, we were able to tour multiple casinos and learn so much about the industry. When we were not in meetings, we were able to be more casual and have free time. Since this was partially a business trip, it was necessary to pack business attire in addition to typical vacation clothes. Here are some of the necessities that I brought with me on my trip:

  1. Blazer: One thing that I brought with me on my trip was a blazer. The one that I have is not very heavy, so it was a perfect layer for the Vegas heat. It allowed me to bring some of my more professional tank tops with me, as my shoulders would be covered and my overall look would be more professional. I used it through a lot of my meetings and it was great.
  2. Flats With Support: The flats that I brought for our meetings had cushions in them, which allowed me to be comfortable while walking long distances through the casinos.
  3. Fancy dresses: Since we were in Vegas, we went to a club one night and to a concert with a strict dress code another night. Due to this, I made sure I packed two fancy dresses. They can always be re-worn, but at least for my group, going out late two nights was enough for us and we did not need to pack more.
  4. Capri Work Pants: since it was so warm there, I made sure to pack some capri length work pants as well. It made us look professional while still staying cool in the heat.
  5. Sandals: Sandals are great for walking around the Strip. I also paired sandals with one of my fancy dresses to allow for more comfort.
