My First Week On Tinder: How Did It Go?

As we all know, Tinder is one of the simpler dating apps that a lot of people resort to. It’s great for meeting new people and getting to know them, or trying to at least. You get your small talkers, your creepy matches and ones that get a little too straight to the point. I had never used dating apps before, and I’m not sure if I will anymore after just this first week of using Tinder. Here’s my experience with it!

Making the Tinder was no problem. I picked out my pictures, I wrote a little bio, and that was that. It was time to get to swiping. I was there for a few hours the first day I had it. Swiping left mostly, and some right. I’m a picky gal, what can I say? Some matches, some not of course. Can’t win them all. I had started talking to a few matches, and a few turned into more and more and more. This continued over the course of a few days, and a select few conversations had moved away from Tinder chat and went to iMessage or Snapchat or Instagram. However, I did end up getting a date the second day I had Tinder. Here’s how that went.

It was super awkward. We didn’t have much to talk about, we got some food and just relaxed in the restaurant. He then asked about my religious beliefs, which I feel is a bit intense on a first date, and then eventually said that I was evil. Which was quite a surprise to me, I didn’t know I held such evil energy. He dropped me back off near my place and we never spoke again — thank goodness. The next date I had, which was the next day, went way smoother than the first one. We had a much better connection, we just seemed to have a lot of the same interests and we hit it off pretty well! There’s a second date planned at some point, but then he said something weird and I now have the ick. Fantastic, am I right?

Other dates were kind of planned out, but they fell through just because. It’s a normal thing with dates just not following through. The same thing happens with friends and stuff, too. Nothing major.

After that, I slowly started swiping less. The rush of getting matches and talking to people got dull, and then, I deleted the app. Honestly, it was just exhausting. I couldn’t keep up with the amount of attention I was getting since I really wasn’t used to that volume of attention. It was a lot to handle!

Nothing had come out of my Tinder adventure. I downloaded it since I didn’t really think I’d meet someone in person. I’m not that great at talking in person, so I figured this was a great solution. Turns out it kind of sucks for me.
