I Ranked Every Couple in Season 2 of ‘Love is Blind’

I just finished binging season two of Love is Blind instead of studying for my midterms, and let me tell you, I was HOOKED.

Season two was, to put it lightly, a hot mess. While there were some genuinely heartwarming moments this season, many of the couples did not seem too happy together. Below, I’ve ranked each relationship from total disaster to true love.

6. Shaina Hurley and Kyle Abrams

Think of all the iconic couples you know: Romeo and Juliet, Tom Holland and Zendaya. Now forget about them. Their romances cannot compare to Shaina and Kyle’s beautiful love story. When this couple broke up, I was *totally* surprised. I wondered what could’ve possibly gone wrong with such a healthy, not-at-all-toxic relationship?

Um, just kidding! This couple was a complete mess. Shaina and Kyle have definitely earned their position in last place.

Shaina blamed most of their relationship problems on their differences in faith, but to be honest, she didn’t seem that into Kyle in the first place. She even refused to sleep in the same bed with him and openly flirted with Shayne.

Shaina was so uninterested in Kyle that she couldn’t even suck it up just to finish their honeymoon: an all-expenses-paid vacation in Mexico! She dipped way before the wedding, to the surprise of absolutely no one.

5. Deepti Vempati and Abhishek ‘Shake’ Chatterjee

Now, I want to briefly pause my ranking and speak directly to the producers of the show. I only have one question: who allowed Shake to be on Love is Blind? The premise of this show is that you have to fall in love with someone regardless of their physical appearance; something this man clearly did not understand.

Within the first episode alone, Shake insisted that he only dated blondes and found a way to ask nearly every contestant about their weight. His behavior only grew worse outside of the pods, where he made rude comments about how unattractive he found Deepti.

For reasons unknown, Deepti accepted this man’s proposal. Fortunately, she quickly came to her senses and rejected him at their wedding. In my humble opinion, Deepti is a queen and I hope she finds someone who gives her the respect she deserves.

4. Mallory Zapata and Salvador perez

I just want to take a moment to congratulate Sal on literally being the *perfect* man. First, he wrote and performed a song about Mal in the pods. Then, after returning to the real world, he cooked Mal a candlelit dinner and proceeded to serenade her AGAIN! (Take notes, Shake.)

Unfortunately for Sal, all that singing amounted to nothing. Mal was just not into him. Her lack of interest was apparent from their first in-person meeting, which was so awkward that I was tempted to skip past it. From there, the situation didn’t improve. They continued to have absolutely zero chemistry to the point where I cringed whenever they shared a scene together.

I wasn’t at all surprised when Sal pulled the plug on their relationship. I just hope he finds someone else who will appreciate his musical talents a bit more.

3. Natalie Lee and Shayne Jansen

I wasn’t the biggest fan of Shayne in the pods. His behavior was a tad immature and I thought the scene where he confused Natalie with Shaina was a huge red flag. However, once the pair returned to the real world, I started to root for them. They seemed to have a lot of love and mutual respect.

Unfortunately, their differing personalities clashed, culminating in argument after argument. The constant fighting drove Natalie to reject Shayne at the altar. Despite their differences, they still care for each other. I guess some relationships just aren’t meant to be.

2. Danielle Ruhl and Nick Thompson

I’m not going to lie, I was pretty shocked when Nick and Danielle tied the knot. Based on the number of arguments they had (which was a lot), I was fairly certain that someone would back out.

However, it appears as if they’ve worked through their relationship problems and now they seem pretty happy together. Danielle has made peace with Nick’s tendency to micromanage and Nick has accepted Danielle’s eccentricities (including her closet full of food-themed costumes).

Danielle attributes their success to couples therapy. She told People Magazine about the significant role professional advice has played in improving their marriage.

“It is important,” Ruhl said. “You don’t have to go for the rest of your life. You can go even just for one argument, one disagreement… and it’s okay. It doesn’t mean that your marriage is going to be over. It doesn’t mean you’re doomed. It means you both have the goal of wanting it to work.”

1. Iyanna McNeely and Jarrette Jones

At first, I was apprehensive about this couple because I didn’t think Iyanna deserved to be anyone’s second choice. I was also sure that Jarette’s initial attraction to Mal would create a lot of drama in their relationship. However, Iyanna and Jarrette quickly proved me wrong. Their love for one another felt the most realistic to me, and while they had their fair share of ups and downs, they worked through each obstacle and came out stronger in the end.

This is not to mention their adorable wedding. I loved everything, from Iyanna’s dress to how supportive their respective families were. I’m so glad they’re happy together!

Overall, season two of Love is Blind was a wild ride. There were some… messy moments, from the Shayne/Natalie/Shaina love triangle to basically every time Shake opened his mouth. The drama was addicting but I was equally entertained by the sweet parts. I enjoyed watching the relationships grow through each episode and I’m genuinely happy for the couples who found love on the show.
