It is always the best feeling when spring is coming and the freezing days in 10-degree weather turns into 60-degree weather. You see more people outside and the snow that you never thought was going to melt is finally turning into puddles. You can feel the seasonal depression lifting off your shoulders because you know that the days are finally going to be longer, and you anticipate the feeling of the sun hitting your face. I have come up with a few ways to get into the spirit of warmer weather and let the winter days fade away.

  1. Do a spring cleaning: Open your windows and do a complete swipe down from ceiling to floor of all the dirt. This will give you more motivation to do what you want to do instead of sitting in a dark hole all winter. The feeling of having a clean space will put your mind at ease knowing that the clutter is gone, and your room is organized.
  2. Put all of the chunky clothing away: You won’t be needing a heavy jacket hanging in your closet anymore. Though some light sweaters are a good idea to keep, definitely downsize on all things bulky and taking up space. Put out some brightly colored clothes that give you excitement to wear.
  3. Start planning some trips: This doesn’t have to be anywhere far; it could just be to the beach or a day trip to a state close by. don’t be too late this year, plan ahead and book what you want to do now!
  4. Take care of your skin: This is the time to prepare for the glowing skin again. Get a pedicure and manicure, moisturize, and exfoliate. After hiding all skin parts from head to toe, you’re finally going to be able to show off all of the fabulous parts about yourself and there is nothing better than taking care of your skin to gain more confidence
  5.  Buy some new clothes: Now is the time to buy that summer clothing before prices get high. Get yourself excited for the summer days and treat yourself to a shopping spree. It is always nice to spice up your wardrobe. There is nothing better than having an outfit in your closet that you are excited to wear when the time comes.

Spring is the perfect time to get ready for summer and these small tips will ensure that you will be ready when the time comes. Don’t wait last minute to prepare, start now and get in the spirit of those warmer days to come. Go outside and enjoy it because vitamin D gives off more serotonin than you think!
