“Some people may say he’s overrated but let me tell you this: there is a reason Harry Styles has so many fans. If his music hasn’t won you over, his personality surely will.” -Lily Faille

Lily Faille is the ultimate Directioner and Harry Styles fan, excuse me, Superfan. Lily is a freshman advertising major at Suffolk University who enjoys being with her friends and family whenever she can. During this interview, Lily was able to give us some insight not only on her favorite songs but also on why she looks up to Styles for more than just his music.

How long have you been a directioner and your top song from them?

Lily has been a director since the legendary song “What Makes You Beautiful” became mainstream, coming up on 12 years now. Lily listens to One Direction and Harry Styles every day and had this to say about her top song of all time, “It’s hard for me to choose my favorite songs, ha-ha, I love too many!” However, some of her favorites are specifically from the albums “Made in the A.M” and “Four.” The top three songs that make it onto Faille’s list include “End of the Day”, “Walking in the Wind”, and last but certainly not least “Fools Gold.”

Were you always a Harry girl?

Surprisingly, this Harry Styles SuperFan has not always been a Harry girl. In fact, she started out as a Niall girl, commonly known among directioners as a “Nialler.” “I think my 11-year-old mind liked him because he was blonde like me.”

Your favorite aspect about Harry Styles and why?

Faille believes that Styles is, “a cultural icon for our time/generation.” She loves how humble he has remained, and how much he cares about his fans. And not just how much he cares, but how he shows the fans he cares as well.

Top 3 favorite songs that you would recommend to someone who doesn’t listen to Harry Styles?

  • “Sweet Creature” – Just because it is my favorite song of his.
  • “Woman”
  • “Kiwi” – If you like the Rock n Roll side of him.

Any guesses about Harry’s third album/tour theme?

He is full of surprises so you can never really know where he’s going to take things next. Look at his Met Gala outfit, we did not expect that, yet it was still somehow perfect.” Moreover, Faille says that if she had to guess, Style’s next theme could go one of two ways. The first is embracing his feminine side to the extreme, or in contrast going full Rock n Roll on us, represented through his lyrics and style.
