Lately, I have been experimenting with some new makeup and I wanted to give you all a recap of my favorites.  Some of these aren’t necessarily new items in my routine, but I feel like it would be rude to not mention them.

  1. Elf Poreless Putty Primer

Initially, I wasn’t too sure about this primer.  I had seen it go viral on TikTok, though, so I wanted to give it a fair shot.  I have been struggling a lot with my skin recently and have a lot of new texture that tends to show through when I want to wear a full coverage look.  I tested this out and really liked how it seemed to smooth my skin and made it easier to apply makeup as well as did a great job of filling in my pores. I highly recommend this product for someone that wants longer-lasting makeup at a budget price.

  1. Melt Makeup – Honey Thief, Cream Blush Light

Okay, this is my all-time favorite cream blush.  I bought this a few months ago at Sephora and I still haven’t gotten over it, so I had to include it.  The shade is Honey Thief and is a peachy, coral cream blush. It is so incredibly silky and soft and blends amazingly well on top of liquid/cream foundations.  I have recently started using a brush to apply it and I love it even more.  Even better, a lot goes a long way, so I’m going to keep wearing this for a long time.

  1. Elf 16-Hour Camo Concealer

I had my doubts about this product.  I saw it on TikTok and it was apparently a dupe for the famous Tarte Shape Tape.  I have been wanting to try Shape Tape for such a long time, but because of the price tag, I couldn’t get myself to buy it.  I didn’t like this concealer at first.  It was kind of patchy and I noticed it got really flaky (?) by the end of the night, but I kept giving it a shot.  As I have improved my skin recently, I noticed the main problem this product was having was picking up dry patches on my skin.  The key to making this concealer look perfect is really going in with the moisturizer before.  I would not recommend this product to someone with very dry skin, but as someone with usually combination skin, it worked very well for me.

  1. Maybelline Glass Setting Spray – Dewy Finish and the Maybelline Lasting Fix Setting Spray – Matte Finish

Another product I did not like at first…. I initially tried the Dewy Finish setting spray by itself and I really didn’t like it.  Don’t get me wrong, it definitely does its job, but it does it so well that I looked greasy within an hour. A few weeks later, I picked up the Matte setting spray to see if that would work better.  It did, and it looked amazing.  The Matte version kept my makeup looking pristine for hours and I fell in love with it.   However, a few days ago, I discovered a magical combination.  Spray the Dewy on first, let it dry, and then add the matte.  It looked flawless.  I absolutely loved how my skin looked dewy and fresh, but not overly greasy.  It also then got the lasting effects of the Matte spray.  Highly recommend this combination.
