Since coming to college, I have noticed my hair has taken a major hit. The damage from coloring it, styling it constantly, sleeping on, or just from everyday life has become too much. Since I started working at Ulta Beauty, I have tried what seems like hundreds of different hair products to revive my hair. I was on the hunt for the best products, and these are my top six hair products that have changed my hair game.

  1. OLAPLEX No.8 Bond Intense Moisture Mask

This concentrated repair mask adds so much shine to my hair, a co-worker noticed the difference after one use. The lightweight mask is perfect for my thinner hair and leaves it feeling so soft and silky. I found this useful because lots of hair masks are too heavy for my hair and leave my head greasy. This mask does the opposite, making my hair soft and silky while also being clean. You apply 2 pumps to damp hair and work through mid to ends. This product is now available at Ulta Beauty!

  • Bondi Boost Rapid Repair Serum

This is my favorite after-shower product in the world. The Rapid Repair Serum restored my hair and keeps it from breaking as easily. After I get out of the shower and before I comb my hair, I take 2-3 pumps and just put it on the ends of my hair. Then I take a comb and detangle my hair which distributes the product evenly. I have tried other hair serums but found them to be too heavy or sticky, but this one is just the opposite. It smells amazing and leaves my hair healthy and shiny.

  • OUAI Detox Shampoo

Living on a college campus has done a lot of damage to my hair. Between the water and constantly styling it, there is a lot of dirt and product buildup. The water we shower in has a lot of minerals that can damage our hair over time, and don’t really leave your hair with normal shampoo. With OUAI Detox Shampoo, it strips the hair from any oils, dirt, or impurities. I use this any time I have gone a long time without washing my hair or used a lot of products that day. I also have color-treated hair and it does not strip my color away which is hard to find from a detox shampoo.

  • It’s a 10, Miracle Blow Dry H2O Shield.

I live and breathe for my Hot Tools blow dry brush, so it only fitting that I found the perfect product to use beforehand. This styling leave-in has all the conditioning benefits of the regular It’s a 10 leave-in while also cutting your blow-dry time in half. It leaves my hair looking shiny and makes my blow dry last longer because of the anti-frizz properties. I spray this all over my damp hair before blow-drying, and I get my entire head styled in 20 minutes. You can find this product here.

I used to hate wearing my naturally curly/wavy hair before discovering this product. I have thinner hair so finding a curl cream that wasn’t too thick but still did its job was quite the challenge. When I found the Advanced Climate line from OUIDAD my curls were never the same. The cream is perfect. I take a quarter-size amount and rub it into my hands, so it’s spread out, and run my fingers through my hair quickly. After some of the product is in my hair, I flip my head upside down and scrunch the rest of the product in. This leaves my slight curly/wavy/fizzy hair looking a lot more put together and makes my curls last longer.

  • VERB Ghost Oil

I NEVER believed in putting oil on dry hair before this product. This lightweight styling oil puts my baby hairs in their place no matter if it’s curly, blow-dried, or I’m letting it air dry. I take literally half a pump and disperse is from the mids to the ends of my hair. Then with the excess on my hands, I go over the pieces closer to my roots. This creates a nice shiny look without making your hair look too greasy. I use it every day just so my hair receives moisture, and it adds so much shine versus a greasy look that some oils can give.
