So, who is going to tell our grandparents that holes in our jeans are the style? No, Grandpa, I did not get them half off because of the number of holes that are in them.

I would love to give a guide to the older generation about our up and coming generation. I think we are seen as selfish in the eyes of the older generation. This is valid. We are a generation that is very focused on our own lives, but I am not sure that is as bad as it is made out to be. I am not diminishing everything the older generation endured. However, I think if we could explain why we behave the way we do there might be a little more understanding between the generations.

The main thing I would put in the handbook of understanding the new generation is the importance of accepting that not everyone leads the same life.

There was a time when men and women found their life partner, got married, had a baby or two, worked, and that was kinda it. Today people are not getting married till late twenties and having babies around early thirties. Our dreams are becoming more of a priority.

I am not saying I do not want to find my true love and live out the rest of my life with them. However, I think today we are recognizing that individuality is important.

What would you put in the handbook?
