I am sure many of us college girls can agree that we wish there was more time in a day. Maybe it is just me, but when it hits 11 o’clock and I feel like I have nothing done, I would love two more hours in the day. Not to do homework. Two hours to just do something that I had wanted to do in a day and didn’t get to. Like go to the gym, or call my friend, or journal, or even take a nap. Something that qualifies as me time after all the homework and extra-curricular work is done.

To be honest, I try to remedy this want for more hours in a day by forcing myself to plan, plan and then plan some more. If you could see my planner… you would be appalled.

But as much as I plan, some weeks are just too much. Some days are just too much. Hell, some semesters are just too much. These times seem as though you cannot escape them.

Can you tell I am having one of those weeks this week?

And since it is still at the beginning of the semester, I am feeling somewhat defeated that I have already had one of those weeks.

But I will not allow myself to spiral. Though misconceiving by my previous words, I am turning this week around. So that there are not more of those weeks that eventually turn into those semesters.

No matter how busy we college girls are, we still manage to do fine and for a cliché, land on our feet.

Seriously though, I love to complain as much as the next girl, but I know deep down in my heart that I will be okay no matter how threatening my planner is staring back at me.

And I hope that by me being vulnerable enough to explain that I too, as much as I wish I did not, feel overwhelmed, it provides a sense of comfort. You’re not alone with your feelings of how you cannot balance it all.

Just think about how much it will all pay off when you do not seem to see any notebook space left in your planner. How much you can endure because though tiring, you know you can handle it and manage it all.

I hope that you feel relieved that you are not alone, and deep down you are affirmed that you can do it.

To the rest of the semester not being one of those semesters!

You got this, Girl.

Howdy babes, my name is Hadley Thompson and I am super happy to be here. I am from Niagara Falls, NY, and am ready to move where the Buffalo winters aren't so strong, brrrrr. I am a senior political science and journalism double major at St. Bonaventure University. I still remember my first semester writing for HC, I was the only new inductee at our annual interest meeting! It is so awesome to have witnessed this group of insightful and wonderful minds grow throughout the years. As I finish up my time here at Bonas, I hope to combine all of my hobbies and interests as I step into this next chapter of my life. Because I love things like reading, studying politics, environmental studies, chatting it up, writing, and such, I am applying to law school, eek! I will have to keep you updated. I am super excited for this semester amidst all of the changes, senior feelings, and, of course, to be a part of HC @ SBU! :)
