Due to Covid-19, most travel has been restricted or rather nonexistent for a majority of the world. New regulations and expectations seem to be released constantly, making planning trips merely impossible. I can’t help but hope that with more people getting vaccinated, 2022 will allow for more travel opportunities. Therefore, I have compiled a list of my top destinations for 2022.

Italy:

At the top of my list is Italy. The last time I was there was when I was 17 with my twin sister. During this trip, I experienced what it was like to be away from home for the first time. Additionally, it was the first time I completely immersed myself in a different culture. From their food to fashion, to architecture,  Italy seems to have it all. After a long time of no travel, I am yearning to feel the joy and excitement that Italy made me feel, yet again. Therefore, this summer I will be hopping on the first flight there.

Portugal:

Second, on my list is Portugal. I have been fantasizing about their beautiful shorelines and crystal blue water for years now. For summer 2022, I have found flights to Portugal to be very reasonable ranging from about $400-600 dollars round trip. I believe because of COVID-19 flight prices have been fluctuating, but as long as you stay flexible with your travel then you will have an abundance of options. In Portugal, I am eager to see the city of Lisbon. Additionally, I would like to experience one of their surf camps and the on-site glamping that they offer.

Florida Keys:

A little closer to home, my third destination is the Florida Keys. This is a great way to feel as though you are traveling to another country without having to worry about Covid-19 restrictions. Each island offers a variety of activities, beautiful views, and relaxation on the white sandy beaches. The bright blue water is perfect for snorkeling and spending the day on a boat. The Florida Keys is just a short flight from Tampa, making it easy to travel there even if it is just for a long weekend.

There are many other ideal vacation destinations, but these are at the top of my list for 2022. Hopefully, travel will open up completely for everyone so that we can once again experience each other’s cultures.
