This past week, I got to see my idol, Lady Gaga, in her newest box office film House of Gucci. I cannot even express to you how much I love seeing her on the big screen. I think she has such a way of bringing life to the stage and to any event she attends. Whether it be going out in jaw-dropping, unique looks, the way she effortlessly belts behind the mic, or her natural ability to shapeshift, Gaga amazes viewers everywhere.

Not only was Gaga’s performance in this newest, nearly 3-hour film extremely impressive, but she was also joined on set by some other outstanding actors such as Adam Driver and Al Pacino. I thought that her and Driver were the perfect duo to take on the roles of Patricia and Mauricio Gucci. Their chemistry on set is arguably as good as that of Gaga and Bradley Cooper in A Star is Born back in 2018. However, her role in this film is incredibly different. I think I was so impressed with Gaga because of how she can be so versatile as both an actress and a singer. At some points, I was so engulfed in her character, the revenge-seeking, greedy Patricia, that I forgot it was Lady Gaga on screen.

Though I heard many viewers were not as happy with the way the film came out, I personally thought that the acting was amazing. People were complaining about how the story takes too long at some points to lead towards resolution, but I thought that it was very well done nonetheless.

Driver does an impressive job in other roles, such as that of Kylo Ren in the latest Star Wars films and the husband in Marriage Story, so I wasn’t surprised that he killed it in his role as the cold, heartless, goal-oriented Mr. Gucci this time around. Al Pacino also does an excellent job as the merciless, awful father.

House of Gucci is impressive, and I give the film a 9/10 rating. I feel as though it will go down in Gaga’s legacy, the outstanding actress she is, as a film that showcased her incredible talent despite some of the negative feedback from critics. I was blown away by her once again.
