10 Fall Home Décor Ideas Perfect for Thanksgiving

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Jefferson chapter.
  • Floral Painted Pumpkins

These pumpkins would be perfect for your tabletops. They’re not that hard to make! Just get a pumpkin, either real or fake, and paint it with any floral design that you think would boost your fall home aesthetic.

  • Acorn Vase

This is a great way to upgrade your regular fall flowers. All you have to do is get a vase and fill it with some gold decorative acorns. Then, add your favorite fall flowers. You can add a strip of ribbon around the vase to finish the design.

  • Leaf Wreath

Use this decoration to bring more attention to your front door. Take a metal hanger and bend it to form a circle. Then glue on some fall leaves and dried fruit around it until it forms a wreath.

  • Drilled Pumpkin Light

This is a really cool idea to bring light to your home. Just get a fake pumpkin and saw off the bottom. Then, drill holes into the pumpkin. Add a Himalayan Salt Lamp Base to the bottom of the pumpkin and you’re done! Perfect for illuminating those dark, chilly nights.

  • Pumpkin Flower Arrangement

This is another great idea for your tabletop. Get a fake pumpkin and cut around the stem and take it off. Paint the pumpkin white to contrast the flowers. Add some colorful faux fall flowers into the pumpkin.

  • Flannel Pillow

Flannels are perfect for this time of the year, so why not make a pillow with it! Use some flannel fabric and cut out two square shapes. Sew three of the sides together making sure that both pieces are inside out. After you’re done stitching the three sides, flip it so the right side is on the outside now. Stuff the pillow with some stuffing and stitch the opening close. Then, put it on your couch to add to its coziness!

  • Fall Yarn Hanging

Everyone will think that you bought this decoration, but it’s so easy to make! Just get a branch from outside and some yarn. Tie the yarn on the branch so it hangs down from it. You can glue some fake flowers to the branch to finish the look.

  • Painted Mason Jars

This decoration is so easy to make! Just get some mason jars that you may have lying around your house. Then, paint them with metallic shades like gold, blue, or silver. Fill the mason jars with some fresh fall flowers. See how easy that is!

  • Brushstroke Candles

This is an easy way to make regular candles look modern and pretty! Get white pillar candles and paint the bottom half royal blue. Then, use a flat paint brush to add some gold brushstrokes on the blue half of the candle. Just remember that these candles are for decoration purposes only and not intended to be lit.

  1. Muted Tone Pumpkins

This is another great tabletop decoration that strays from the typical orange or bright colored pumpkin. Just paint a few pumpkins in muted tones. Place these pumpkins into a glass dome and that’s it!
