5 Binge-Worthy Shows To Watch With Your Roommates

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Wisconsin chapter.

The Sunday scaries are no match for these binge-worthy shows

The COVID-19 pandemic left me and my four roommates trapped within our tiny three-bedroom apartment. Although many days took a toll on our physical and mental health, we soon found some activities that we could do within our quarantine bubble. One of these was binge-watching what seemed like any TV show we could find. Due to this, I now have insight regarding the best shows to watch with your roomies!

1. You

If you’re looking for a steamy show that is sure to get you to fall in love with the mysteriously hot and murderous main character, then slide on over to Netflix and watch YOU. This cult favorite has just released its third season, and has announced another season in the works, so jump on the bandwagon. You won’t be sad you did.

2. The Haunting of Hill House

Aside from scripted shows, my roommates and I are obsessed with true crime documentaries. After watching basically every 20/20 episode there was to watch, we did some research to find a scripted show that delivered the same feeling. That’s when we stumbled across The Haunting of Hill House. This show is such a quick watch (I think we finished it within 48 hours) with an amazing storyline. If you love it as much as we did, you can also find The Haunting of Bly Manor (sequel series) on Netflix.

3. Selling Sunset

I am a reality TV buff. So, naturally I had to turn my other four roommates into reality lovers as well. The show that sold them was Netflix’s original Selling Sunset. Packed full of tours of expensive mansions and ridiculous amounts of cast drama, this show is a must-watch for anyone who’s obsessed with reality TV.

4. Outer Banks

Even though I’m sure everyone and their mother has already watched Outer Banks, I’m going to include it on this list because if you haven’t, you must. This show is pretty alright if I’m honest, but not my favorite (it’s a little predictable, if you ask me). However, it is still definitely worth the watch, especially if you want to be included in the gossip surrounding the show on socials.

5. Bridgerton

Being stuck in the Sunday scaries (and also the COVID-19 pandemic), sometimes all we wanted to do was escape the world we were living in. So, we would turn on Bridgerton and find ourselves in London falling deeper in love with Simon, Duke of Hastings. If you’re ever looking for an escape, this show will certainly work for you.

After going through the many shows that we binged during our time in lockdown, I finally came up with five that I thought would create a well-rounded list. As I’m sure many people will have their opinions of the best shows out there, the list above is just a look into what we watched in my apartment. I hope these recommendations help you pick the next best binge-worthy show to enjoy with your friends!
