Best Fall Products from Trader Joe’s

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at CU Boulder chapter.

Trader Joe’s, aka TJ’s, aka one of the best grocery stores to ever be created (despite their parking situation), really knows how to do it when it comes to their fall products.

Fall at TJ’s means pumpkin everything. You can find it around every corner and there is no escaping it, but there’s no need to escape it when the products are so freaking fantastic.

Trader Joe’s fall themed items can sound amazing, but not all fall and pumpkin themed items are. Here are seven TJ fall products that are actually worth your time and money.

  1. Butternut Squash Mac & Cheese

I’m not entirely sure what made me want to buy this (probably because it said mac and cheese on the label) but it is so yummy.

I remember when I tried it for the first time last year, I was obsessed. But when I decided to go back and buy some more at the store, they told me they were completely out of stock and that this product would not be back until the following fall. I remember feeling my heart break.

This year however, I made sure to stock up on a few boxes and it is just as good as the first time I tried it. If you want to enjoy comfort food but still want that little extra health sprinkle while getting into the fall spirit, then this is for you.

2. Pumpkin Butter

When TJ released their fall products, I woke up super early and got to the store before it opened. As I was comparing and debating on whether to buy the pumpkin spread or pumpkin butter, out from my side came a woman who swooped three of these jars. I asked her if this was better than the pumpkin spread and she said her daughter absolutely loves to put in her yogurt. I was immediately sold and bought it, excited to try this out on many things.

My mom is not obsessed with pumpkin like I am and she is very hard to please when it comes to food. So when I brought this home for her to try, I was expecting her to take a taste and remain unimpressed–however, she loved it.

The hint of lemon is very subtle but definitely gives this spread an extra oomph. The versatility of this product also makes this a top item.

3. Sweet & Savory Lightly Spiced Pumpkin Spread

When deciding on whether to buy the pumpkin spread or butter, I decided to try both, not really sure what the differences were. While this says “sweet & savory” on the label, I would say this is actually slightly sweeter than the pumpkin butter. However, it is still super yummy with teeny tiny pumpkin chunks in it.

I like to eat it on crackers with goat cheese.

4. Pumpkin Blondie Brownies

For all of my sweet tooth people out there, these are a must. They are so moist and have just the right amount of pumpkin spice. The texture is definitely more pumpkin bread-y but the portions give you that blondie brownie feel. The white chocolate drizzle is the cherry on top.

5. Fall Leaf Corn Tortilla Chips

A lot of these items are on the sweet side, but I love savory snacks just as much, especially when it comes to tortilla chips. I can munch on these all day long.

What caught my eye about these was definitely the fact that they were leaf shaped and came in various colors, but the taste and texture were what made me a fan.

The taste is not that of a typical tortilla chip, they taste a little more healthy and are lightly salted. The red chips are actually colored from beets which you can subtly taste along with the orange ones that are more reminiscent of a gourd. The yellow ones are the ones that do not have any hints of outside flavors but are just as delicious.

6. Mini Pumpkin Ginger Icecream Cones

I am a lover of the TJ Hold the Cone mini ice cream cones, so I of course had to try these fall limited edition ones. These are seriously so delightful and better than some of the original flavors that are available year round.

The ginger cones are so delectable and complement well with the pumpkin ice cream. The white coating just brings these fall flavors together and I can never just stop at one.

7. Pumpkin Rolls

Last but not least are these bad boys. They are so bad but so good. If you love cinnamon rolls, you will love these even more. They are so moist and the pumpkin spice icing is just too good.

These are perfect for lazy Saturday mornings or if you are simply craving a fall dessert.

The Fall and Winter holiday season really know how to make everything in life 10 times better, especially when it comes to comfort food. That is mainly what the holiday season is about after all and these items are sure to make your heart and tummy happy.

This is the time of year where I find myself coming to Trader Joe’s more often and it’s the time of year I look most forward to when shopping here. If there is ever a time you should go grocery shopping at TJ, it is now, and you’ll want to go quickly before you find your new favorite fall item is sold out.
