Are you feeling stressed, tired, burnout, or all of the above? I know I am, so I decided to create a list of some of my favorite fall activities to help prevent these feelings. While the start of fall is an exciting time with watching the leaves change colors and watching Halloween movies, it can also be a very stressful time. With midterms, football games, Halloween, and formals, I know it can be easy to burnout. I created a list of some of my favorite fall activities to help refresh and motivate you to finish the semester strong.

  • Hike/Run/Walk.

One of my favorite things to do in the fall is to spend as much time outside as I can. Boulder is such a beautiful city with amazing views, especially in fall with the leaves changing color. I love going for a run or a hike to take in the scenery. Not only are these activities a fun way to get some exercise, being out in the crisp air can be a great way to clear your mind, and mentally reset.

  • Bake.

One of my favorite things about fall is the pumpkin and apple food items. Nothing is better than making a sweet treat on a cozy fall day. If you have access to a kitchen I highly recommend baking some of your favorite desserts by yourself or with some friends this semester. This can be a little study break and a great way to treat yourself after some exams.

  • Go to a Pumpkin Patch.

Going to a pumpkin patch with your friends is such a fun fall activity that I will always recommend. It’s so fun to put on a cute fall outfit and take some pictures with your besties. You can also buy a pumpkin and take it home to paint, carve, or decorate! Pumpkin patches are only open for a limited time, so make sure you go while you have a chance!

  • Watch Halloween Movies.

If you’re anything like me and get super stressed out during the week, one of my favorite things to do is watch a movie. This is a way to give your brain a break from stressing about real life and enjoy some time to yourself. Being in college makes it so easy to feel exhausted, so this is a fun way to charge your social and academic battery. If you can plan a day in your busy schedule  to watch a short movie I highly recommend you doing it. It’s a great way for me to stay on top of my school work, and stay motivated so I can treat myself with a comforting movie. Since it is fall, this can be your excuse to watch some of your favorite Halloween movies.

  • Shop the Trader Joe’s Fall section.

Going to Trader Joe’s is already therapy for me, let alone walking through all of the fall sections. If you need to go grocery shopping, I recommend going to Trader Joe’s to see all of the fun autumn themed treats, snacks, and meals. Before I go shopping, I love looking at Trader Joe’s hauls to get inspiration for some new items I’ve never had before.

  • Read a book.

I know school requires a lot of mandatory textbook readings so it can be hard to find ways to read for fun. However, one of my favorite things to do in the colder weather is to snuggle up in warm blankets and read a book. I also love making a warm drink such as coffee, hot chocolate, or apple cider. I love reading because it makes me forget about my life and I get so wrapped up in my book that it serves as a great mental reset.

I hope this article gave you some ways to prevent burnout. I know this time of the year is so crazy, but it’s important to take some time out of your week for yourself, whether it’s baking or going for a walk. I know Fall Break seems so far away, but doing some fun activities throughout the weekwill help get us through our stressful lifestyles.
