The Haunting of Hill House (2018)

Inspired by the tale of “The Legend of Hell House” by Richard Mathison, “The Haunting of Hill House” brings to life an appreciation of his work. Suspenseful, emotional, thrilling and terrifying all in one, this three-season Netflix series will keep you on the edge of your seat as you wrestle with the fear of the unknown alongside the characters.

The Haunting of Bly Manor (2020)

“The Haunting of Bly Manor” is a close cousin to “The Haunting of Hill House,” only it leaves you following a gothic-era romance enveloped in something more sinister. “The Haunting of Bly Manor” is no cheap horror show with predictable jump scares. If you enjoy psychological thrillers and a slow burn, this is the show for you.

Stranger Things (2016)

“Stranger Things” is a trailblazer in its genre: it combines coming-of-age, nostalgia, adventure and the supernatural all in one. It follows a band of friends fighting the supernatural forces threatening their town while they discover themselves as they go through adolescence. This is a great feel-good supernatural series for anyone who enjoys some adventure.

Ratched (2020)

This show is for those who enjoy uncanny horror as well as a great bit of suspense.

Warm Bodies (2013)

“Warm Bodies” is a romantic horror chick flick that has a surprisingly well-developed plot that even your beau would enjoy. This movie follows the love story of a young man, now a zombie, who learns about love in a post-apocalyptic world where humankind has been ravaged by a zombie virus. Hey, if a zombie can find love in a global pandemic, love is possible.

Halloween (2018)

This move is quite literally bone chilling. It’s a modern adaption of the Michael Myers classics, only no longer predictable and, spoiler alert, Michael Myers does more than just menacingly walk in this film. This film depicts the escape of Michael Myers from a mental institution in order to fulfill his dream of capturing his final victim. This film is sure to be a crowd pleaser with its striking cinematography, spooky soundtrack and tastefully placed jump scares.
