3 Interesting Apps that I’ve Found Recently

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Akron chapter.
  1. Focus Plant

I heard about Focus Plant from YouTuber, Sienna Santer. In her video about productivity, she mentioned this particular app. Sienna explained that this app can give you an incentive for staying focused on a task. When you set the timer, it monitors your app usage. If you complete the set time, you receive water for your virtual plants. There is even an option to use the Pomodoro technique, where you are given several sessions of focus with breaks in between. Focus Plant can be a great resource if you want to be more proactive in reducing your distractions during study or homework sessions.

  1. Stellarium

Are you a stargazing fanatic? The Stellarium app serves as a map for the different constellations in the sky. This app also enables you to select certain stars or constellations and provides a Wikipedia link to learn more information about them. Stellarium can be an amazing companion when scoping out the night sky and can provide a greater appreciation for the beauty of nature.

  1. Presently

Presently is an app that serves as an online gratitude journal. You can customize your journal and even choose your own theme for the journal’s background. You can also set up notifications when you want to be reminded to make entries. This is a great app to use to keep yourself accountable and find something positive to reflect on each day. Not to mention, the journal dates each of your entries and enables you to look back on previous logs.
