For you and your Boo!

It’s finally that cozy time of year again — autumn! The air is crisp, the leaves are changing colors, and romance is in full bloom. Whether you’ve been in a relationship, are just beginning one or even undergoing long-distance (I feel your pain!), I’ve put together a list of some of the best fall date ideas for you and your S/O this cuffing season.

1. Make Spooky Baskets for Each Other (LDR Friendly)

This is a great option for long-distance couples! One of the most creative ways to kick off the spooky season is to surprise your S/O with a spooky basket. All you need is a Halloween basket, some of your partner’s favorite candies and a few personal touches and… BOO! You’ve just conjured up an awesome gift that will be sure to warm their ghostly heart.

2. Go to an Apple Orchard/Pumpkin Patch

While this one is a bit basic, who doesn’t love going to apple orchards and pumpkin patches? You two can drink some apple cider, buy a couple pumpkins and take adorable Instagram pictures at these classic fall locations.

3. Bake Some Fall Treats

A new season of The Great British Baking Show just aired on Netflix, so if that didn’t already inspire you to start baking again, then this date idea should! Personally, my boyfriend and I love baking new treats to share with our friends and family. You can experiment with baking apple pie, pumpkin cupcakes or chai sugar cookies, just to name a few. There’s a countless number of fall recipes, so try one out with your S/O!

4. Thrift for Fall Sweaters

Looking for a date idea that’s easier on your wallet and environmentally sustainable? Head to your local thrift store and pick out some earth-toned dad sweaters! You can mix-and-match with your S/O and bundle up for the chilly weather.

5. Make a Fall Playlist Together (LDR Friendly) and Go Hiking

This is a two-step date, but I promise it isn’t as difficult as it might sound. Start by adding some of your favorite fall songs* to a playlist. After that, head over to a picture-perfect hiking trail to gaze at nature’s changing leaves and listen to your new playlist with your partner!

*Don’t know many fall songs? I’ve named a few to get you started!

  • “Hocus Pocus” by Summer Salt
  • “Not All Who Wander Are Lost” by Lana Del Rey
  • “willow – lonely witch version” by Taylor Swift
  • “October Skies” by Mumford & Sons

6. Scary Movie Night (LDR Friendly)

What’s better than cuddling with your S/O while watching a horror movie? Nothing. There is no better feeling than being protected or protecting your partner, even if you both know the ghosts on your screen aren’t real… or are they? If you’re in a long-distance relationship, you can stream movies together in separate locations through the Teleparty Chrome extension. Just make sure you keep your teddy bear on standby!

As the weather outside becomes colder, the hearts of couples everywhere grow warmer. With that being said, I hope these fall date ideas inspire you to try something new this season. Don’t be afraid to ask out that special someone because, now, you have an abundance of fall-themed options that are sure to make you the pick of the pumpkin patch.
