Fall has arrived and so is the famous pumpkin spice latte that makes everyone go crazy to visit Starbucks or any other coffee shop that specializes in creating this fall signature staple. Most people just want to get their hands around this warm cup of this delicious latte. Luckily, there are tons of homemade pumpkin spice latte recipes that are easy to make from the comfort of your home. Making this at home saves you time and money, plus, you can control the number of spices and the type of coffee you desire.
As I mentioned before, there are tons of recipes, but here is my favorite fall pumpkin spice latte recipe, made easily with a combination of delicious spices.
Prep: 10 minutes
Cook: 5 minutes
Total: 15 minutes
Serving: 1 serving
Ingredients that will turn your regular morning coffee into the perfect must-have on the pumpkin season:
- 1 cup of milk
- 2 tablespoons pumpkin butter (I chose Trader Joe’s)
- 1 tablespoon sugar, or to taste
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger (you can choose less)
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup brewed espresso or strongly brewed coffee
- 2 tablespoons sweetened whipped cream (I made my own)
Steps of how to make a Pumpkin Spice Latte:
- Gather the ingredients and mix the pumpkin butter, sugar, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cloves, vanilla, and coffee into a small pot.
2. Whisk occasionally until the pumpkin puree has been incorporated, and the sugar and spices are dissolved on a medium-low flame.
3. Add the milk to a second pot and heat it up to 120 degrees Fahrenheit or to a microwave-safe jar, and heat it up just enough to warm it.
4. Whisk the milk vigorously until it foams or froths. To do this, I used a milk french press. Then, press and move the plunger up and down, holding down the lid until you achieve a thick consistency. Alternatively, if you have a milk frother wand, use this to create the foam as desired.
5. Pour the hot coffee mixture into a mug. Then, pour in the frothy milk.
6. Top with whipped cream and a dash of cinnamon (if desired)
Voilá! Your very own delicious pumpkin spice latte is now set and ready to savor. Enjoy!
