Here are my favorite ways to spice up my dorm and make it a fun place for me to hang out in.

Throw pillows

My theme for my room is more of bright colors with touches of pink. I love to add throw pillows on the bed because they add a fun touch to my tiny room but don’t take up any floor space. Throw pillows add personality to the room and make your room more cozy.

Here is a link to a pillow I think that would be so cute on any bed.

books

I love to have books all around my dorm, whether to read or for more of decoration. I usually stack them and make it so some things will be higher on my desk.

My favorite book to use for decoration but is also a very good read is In the Company of Women: Inspiration and Advice from over 100 Makers, Artists, and Entrepreneurs: Bonney, Grace: 9781579655976: Amazon.com: Books The book is a great read for women in college and it truly inspired me.

posters

My posters hold my room all together. Especially since most dorms have white walls, I love to add color to them. And my favorite way to do that is to add posters. My favorite poster at the moment in my room is “pink girl” Poster by clodfelterstore | Redbubble. I mean, who doesn’t love Pink Floyd? The art on this poster is immaculate.

Plants

Who doesn’t love plants? They bring life into your small dorm and it makes your dorm more inviting. I love to have all different sizes of plants and I also put them in cute pots. I add some by my window to spice up that area and I also have one by my bed. If real plants aren’t your thing, buy fake ones. They still look cute and you don’t have to water them; it’s a win, win. My favorite plant to have for my dorm is a succulent because you don’t have to water them everyday, they are low maintenance, and are usually quite small.

For all of college most likely you will be living in a small space, so don’t forget to add your favorite decorations, to make your dorm, or apartment feel more like home.
