It’s the most wonderful time of the year…it’s Libra season! As a Libra myself, I may be a little biased, but that doesn’t change the fact that Libra is a totally underrated star sign with a lot more going on than indecisiveness. And, as an astrology nerd, I feel I have a responsibility to provide an in depth look at Libras and what makes us tick. Luckily, I’m equipped to do that (I own a 500-page astrology textbook). So, let’s do it!

Libra Dates: September 23rd to October 22nd

Element: Air

Ruling Planet: Venus, ruling pleasure, social pursuits, art and adornment

Symbol: The Scales, signifying balance, equilibrium, order and justice

Birthstone: Opal, bringing clear insight

Libra Overview: Libras are first and foremost known to be likable due to their ability to make others feel important. Simply put, Libras are charming. Because Libra is ruled by Venus, Libras also have a tendency to cherish love and beauty in all forms–art, music, decor, and people. Additionally, Libra energy is often spent on personal relationships, whether those relationships are familial, romantic, academic, or friendly. Libra energy is spent on melding and combining with other people.

The Libra symbol, the Scales, are essential to consider when trying to understand what makes Libras tick. The Scales represent balance and harmony, causing Libras to crave these over everything. Libras thrive when their environment is orderly and serene.

This is where the indecisiveness comes in. Due to their need for peace and harmony, Libras can often spend too much energy worrying about how their decisions may affect their environment. Peace is worth any price to Libras, and they may go out of their way to avoid friction and dissension.

Libras at Work: In the professional world, Libras are excellent team players. Because Libras are all about people, they have the ability to meld many different personalities into a well-oiled machine. A Libra’s best work comes when they are able to utilize their creative talents on practical projects.

However, Libra’s reliance on harmony can be a challenge in the workplace. When faced with conflict or decision-making, Libras will often crack under the pressure. It’s essential for Libras to work on how they handle unpleasant scenarios in the workplace.

Libras in Love: As a child of Venus, Libras love being in love. Libras are always looking for the perfect companion, and their quest for love can lead them down many different paths. Libras are likely to have many relationships, especially in their youth.

Libras cherish affection, understanding, and sympathy. They want a partner who truly sees them, and who will aid them in their search for balance in life. On top of this, Libras value romance over everything. So, if you’re trying to woo a Libra, don’t hold back.

When considering other star signs, Libra is most compatible with Gemini, Leo, Sagittarius, and Aquarius. All of these signs have a restless, creative, and fiery personality that can keep a Libra intrigued.

Overall, Libras are balance-driven idealists, and romantics at heart. Affectionate, sentimental, and naturally optimistic, Libras are born charmers. Happy Libra season everyone!
