My name is Alexis Grant, and this is my second year working with Her Campus Lasell. I write articles, of course, but I’m also the Event Director for our club! I’m a Journalism and Media Writing major and I have a minor in Fashion Media and Marketing. I’m also planning to get my Master’s Degree through Lasell’s 5th Year Option in Public Relations. After I graduate, I’d love to live in a city working for a lifestyle magazine either writing, doing PR, or social media management.
Something I’m very passionate about is traveling. At age 19, I’ve been fortunate to have traveled to 7 other countries besides the US (10 if you count layovers in the airport)- with plans to travel to 2 more countries soon! Being well-traveled and having new adventures is very important to me, so I’m always looking for ways to do so on a college student budget.
When I’m not studying and living at Lasell, I live in a very small town called Athens, Maine, with just over 1,000 people. We have a gas station in town, but you have to drive about 25 minutes to find anything else. Going from that rural town to being so close to Boston and public transportation is always a transition, but I’m more of a city girl! I always miss two cats back in Maine though, Butter and Stella.
I’m so excited to be back on campus at Lasell! I hope that you all enjoy reading these articles this year as much as I enjoy writing them.
