From being the hair inspiration of the 90s to creating a hair care line of her own, Jennifer Aniston has traded in her scripts for formulas as she debuts her new hair product line LolaVie. Playing on her own nickname “Lola,” this vegan and cruelty-free brand includes all naturally-derived products that showcase Aniston’s hair care secrets that contributed to her iconic Friend’s “Rachel” hairstyle.

Aniston started the brand with the idea in mind to show that science and nature do not have to be sacrificed for one or the other, she wanted to “combine the best” of both to curate products for all types of hair. The name of the brand represents confidence, fearlessness and empowerment. Taking her old nickname “Lola” and the French translation for life “vie,” Aniston created LolaVie. Aniston oversaw every step of the production process from product development to creative direction.

The line focuses on sustainability as a commitment to helping the planet. The hair care products use recyclable packaging as well as bamboo essence in the place of common water. Aniston knew she wanted to create a line that remained cruelty-free as an advocate for all animals, like her little dog Clyde. LolaVie’s products are cruelty-free, so are the suppliers and manufacturers.

The brand was first teased when Aniston tagged LolaVie on Instagram with the caption “something’s coming.” Fans speculated that a beauty line would eventually spark Aniston’s interest after she became synonymous with the layered haircut inspired by her Friend’s character “Rachel Green.”

Aniston first shared the brand on her Instagram on Sep. 8 where she shared that the products have been in the works “for a long time” and that she is proud to create a brand “without all the bad stuff.” She announced that among being cruelty-free and vegan, LolaVie is silicone-free, sulfate-free, phthalate-free, paraben-free and gluten-free.

The first product to be revealed on LolaVie’s website was the “glossing detangler.” This product claims to detangle any hair and boost shine, as well as protect the hair from damage. Staying true to the line’s slogan “naturally you,” the product includes all kinds of natural ingredients, such as chia seeds, lemon extract and coconut extract. On LolaVie’s Instagram, it provides a breakdown of the functions of the natural ingredients. Bamboo operates as a “thermal shield” and the chia seeds work to “protect the hair from future damage.” This detangler is listed on their website for $25 and comes with 150 ML of spray. This is the first of many products to come from the brand. LolaVie explains that they will make more products available when they are “just right.”

LolaVie strives to make products that include a “drop of attitude” that make you feel confident, a “pinch of flair,” a “dash of science” that includes multifunctional ingredients and a “sprinkle of nature.” Aniston is now a part of the beauty community alongside other female actresses and entrepreneurs, such as Selena Gomez and Gabrielle Union-Wade.
