There are too many situations where men aren’t held to the same accountability level as women are when it comes to intimate relationships, one being the consequences of cheating. Society has painted this picture of men being very weak and easily tempted individuals, who need all sorts of training and lessons to become a man. When presented with temptation all of their common sense and promise of commitment goes out the window and across the river.
Men may be stupid some of the time, well majority of the time, but that does not mean they aren’t smart and manipulative. They comprehend the advantage society has given them when it comes to cheating and know what to say and what tone to get themselves out of the doghouse.
And what gets you out of the doghouse is a scapegoat.
Binge watching Basketball Wives this past weekend and seeing the part of Draya being introduced into the group was very frustrating to watch. The tension and judgement placed on her simply because of their own insecurities in their relationships was distasteful. Her reputation as a “groupie” caused the other cast members to befriend her from afar cautious of her being a homewrecker.
The lack of security these ladies have in their relationship should never get in between you and another individual. These women act like their husbands are senseless human beings, who feel the need to hold their hand every step of the way to make sure they stay in line. If you call yourself a grown woman then why are you catering to a little boy in a man’s body?
News flash you are not.
They know exactly what they are doing. Their main piece will call the side piece a homewrecker but the call is coming from inside the house! Men know they have a spouse at home or children, or loyal ties to someone but they choose to cut them when they please.
Each time a man will cheat, they test the waters and some girlfriends or wives will let them become Michael Phelps. There are some reasons why they do this: they are supported financially and enjoy the lifestyle, they have a family together and want to keep the closeness of it intact, or simply enjoy the title and what it entails. They either realize or don’t each time a person does not value you, your own worth is diminishing.
Hold these men accountable and tell them about themselves because with swiftness and much audacity, they will preach about what a woman should be doing or how to act.
Men are capable of many things and then act clueless, it’s time for us to act clueless right with them. We are too cute and highly valued to stress over any guy when there are more fish in the sea, so, put on your fishing boots and wait for a bigger catch to come on by.
