With summer slowly fading away and fall quickly approaching, it’s time to update your wardrobe! At the start of the school year, we are reminded that fall is just around the corner, which also calls for you to add some trendy fashion pieces of the season to your #OOTD. We’ll be taking a look at five trendy fall fashion pieces that would accentuate your looks for the season.
#1 DOC MARTENS
Doc Martens are not only a timeless piece of fashion, but they are very comfortable for those who don’t enjoy the classic heeled bootie. Although on the pricier side, Doc Martens will definitely last you years to come. Mine are ancient and have lasted about 7 years! (Yes my feet have not grown lol). These boots can definitely make your outfits more casual and edgy, while also spicing it up since they come in a variety of colors, styles and designs. You can pair them with just about anything you might already have in your wardrobe.
2 Ways 2 Style: For a more feminine look, pair your Jadon Platforms with a black bodycon dress, black mesh tights and an oversized blazer for the ultimate fall look. If you aren’t a fan of dresses, no problem! Pair your Devon Heart Platforms with army green cargo pants, a black, tight-fitted turtleneck and a cropped leather jacket with chains for a more punk feel.
#2 LEATHER COATS
Leather coats… yes, not jackets… COATS! There’s clearly a difference here people! Anyway, leather coats are an essential piece to any fall wardrobe because it can be styled so many different ways and can also be something you just throw on if you’re in a rush to leave the house on a cool morning. Since it can be dressed up for a night out on the town or dressed down for a quick run to the mall, they are yet another timeless piece that will never seem to go out of style. Leather coats can be found just about anywhere for a good price, especially if you’re trying to save some $.
2 Ways 2 Style: For a date night with your friends (or significant other), pair your leather coat with a bright colored turtleneck dress for that little pop of color and some knee-high boots. For a more casual and comfy look, you can pair that same leather coat with mom jeans and a cropped (or uncropped) graphic tee, with your shoe of choice.
#3 BLAZERS
Blazers are my absolute FAVORITE fall piece this season. This is the perfect piece for those who are looking to go with a more mature and sophisticated look this fall. Blazers can also come in handy for those ready to hop on the train of academia fashion. I would suggest warm-toned blazers for the fall and anything with a gingham or plaid print to them. They are definitely on the rise this year and can be found at stores like H&M and Garage.
2 Ways 2 Style: Headed to work in the office? Make sure you look good while doing it! Pair your plaid style blazer with a chocolate brown sweater and some black leather pants with heeled boots. For those warmer fall days, take the same blazer and wear it with some biker shorts and a black tee with chunky loafers for a more business casual look.
#4 SWEATER VESTS
Sweater vests are ALL the rage right now! Are they preppy? YES. Are they cozy? TOTALLY. The sweater vests that are on-trend right now come in an argyle print and a variety of colors, but mostly neutral tones. They are the perfect piece for anyone who likes the feel of a cozy sweater but doesn’t want to wear something too heavy.
2 Ways 2 Style: Pair an oversized white button-down with your sweater vest on top, some fitted leather pants and some heeled combat boots for an edgy style look. Looking for a Harry Potter vibe? Wear a turtleneck underneath the sweater vest and some loose-fitted pants, then go ahead and layer the entire fit with an oversized trench coat on top.
#5 CARPENTER PANTS
Carpenter pants are an old style of pants, somewhere between military meets wannabe cargo. I remember when I bought myself a pair and my mom pointed out that she had carpenter pants “back in the day.” They are definitely the most casual piece of clothing on this list! What’s so cool about carpenter pants is that you can give your body some shape by wearing a tighter fitted shirt since the pants themselves are loose fitted. However, you can go for a baggy-style, street-wear look, as well.
2 ways 2 Style: Pair a long sleeve crop top with your carpenter pants if you’re looking for a flirty look. Going out to the city for a day? Wear a turtleneck underneath a baggy graphic tee and the carpenter pants, along with some chunky sneakers or boots.
