TikTok Star Lily Unveils Releases New Hot Girl Summer Anthem

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Mizzou chapter.

Looking for another song to add to your “hot girl summer” playlist? TikTok user who goes by her first name only, Lily, released her single FMRN on July 2, and it’s the perfect addition for a summer playlist.

TikTok users may be familiar with Lily’s song FMRN after she released a short clip of the song to the popular social media platform on June 17. The original video received over one million views and the sound has over 2,000 videos.

In a TikTok video published June 25 on her page @lilyisthatyou, Lily updated viewers on the delayed release of the song. “Never in my life did I think I would go viral on TikTok,” she said. “When a song blows up, you have to take it seriously.”

Later in the video, Lily announced that the song will be released to many popular streaming platforms, such as Spotify and Apple Music.

Though the original sound on TikTok is only 30 seconds long, there is plenty to love. FMRN, the abbreviation for F*ck Me Right Now, is written by Lily and produced by her boyfriend Caleb Jacob.

The 30 seconds of released content is enough to make you pre-save the song. Lily described an extreme lust for her partner and the lengths she would go to enjoy herself.

Sex is often seen as a somewhat taboo topic in pop-culture, so having an artist create content that is written about her sexual encounters and her desire for sex is incredibly important for making room for women to have these conversations comfortably.

Many other “hot girl anthems” such as Hot Girl Summer by Megan Thee Stallion or Kiss Me More by Doja Cat successfully host conversations for body positivity and sex positivity. These songs focus on self confidence and sex positive, all while carrying irresistable tunes.

Various TikTok users have voiced their opinions in the comments section on recent videos on Unveils’ page. @kennedyhill17 posted, “I haven’t checked for someone to drop a song so much than I have for this song.”

Other users were unamused by the wait. On one of Lily’s posts, user @tami.bobami posted, “Five days too long, babes xx Don’t be selfish, the people need it.”

The canadian singer has one other released song titled Heaven or Hell, an electric alternative song that highlights her deep vocal range and songwriting abilities.

Like many of Lily’s TikTok followers, I was antsy to listen to the entire song to determine if the wait was worth it. FMRN is available now to stream through Apple Music, Spotify and Deezer.
