Starting our own business has been (and continues to be) a HUGE learning process for us! This past week, we completed one of the important steps necessary to start your own business—it’s what’s called filling out a “Doing Business As” (DBA) form. Filling out one of these gives us permission to “do business as” Her Campus—aka set up a bank account under the name Her Campus, write and receive checks as Her Campus, etc.
So the other day between classes, the three of us trekked (about fifteen minutes) to Cambridge City Hall to fill out a DBA! Here is each of us signing the DBA (the woman at City Hall had to witness each of us signing it and look at our driver’s licenses to confirm that we are who we say we are).
Then, we had to raise our right hands to swear that what we wrote in the DBA form was the truth—the woman at City Hall was nice enough to take a picture for us!
