For any of you who were in NYC this summer like me, you probably noticed the interesting experiment that took place in Times Square, where they closed off part of the street to cars and set up lawn chairs all over the place for tourists (or non-tourists I guess) to sit in! It definitely took a little getting used to…
But I still had to do a double-take when I got back to school this fall and saw that the same thing was going on in Harvard Yard! They’ve set up lawn chairs all over the place, and people are just “chilling out” in them… I find it very funny. They’ve also set up food stands for people to buy food from! Seriously, I feel like I am in Times Square all over again, except with a little more greenery and not as many flashing billboards. I assume they’ll take the chairs and carts away once it starts to get colder, but for now it’s quite the spectacle.
