People, I don’t know about y’all, but there’s something wrong if it’s the end of April and 40 or 50 degrees every day.
…welcome to Boston.
ALSO, I was looking through my Facebook pictures and realized I never posted about my fabulous Spring Break cruise to the Bahamas!
Thus, I present the logical combination of these two things: a post with some picture highlights from my vacation since there’s no better time to be channeling good thoughts about the weather and praying for sunshine!
Ten of us went on a 5-night cruise to the Bahamas, sailing aboard the Royal Caribbean Majesty of the Seas. The last time I cruised was back in middle or high school, so I totally forgot how fun it would be!
Here’s the whole gang! Mostly friends from Harvard, with one exception (note the Texas shirt!): Joseph, Luci, Eric, Andrew Z., Zak, David (my brother!), Helen, Liz, me, and Andrew S. (from UT Austin — it was so cool to find out we have mutual friends on the Her Campus UT Austin team!).
We stayed for a night in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, before the cruise. We loved hanging out on the beautiful beach! Eric, my brother David, me, and Liz.
Here I am enjoying a yummy strawberry daiquiri at formal night dinner:
Liz, me, Andrew S., Zak, and Andrew Z. Ummmmm yeah we had a lot of food. (They don’t tell you, but you can order more than one appetizer, entree, and/or dessert if you wish! Let’s just say we exploited this. A lot.)
Me and Luci in front of the GORGEOUS Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island of the Bahamas! It’s like a bajillion star hotel, srsly.
Completely random: one night over dinner we discussed how it’s (supposedly) impossible to put your hands in this configuration, with all fingers firmly grounded on the table, and lift your fourth/ring finger. Of course I then tried it, and to everyone’s amazement, could accomplish this task. Can you? :)
The girls trying to imitate the ridiculous-looking models in the Express display in Key West, Florida. (And ended up looking ridiculous ourselves! Well, actually I’m the only one who actually looks seriously silly.) Me, Helen, Luci, and Liz!
Last but not least, I must include the following picture even though it is sadly very blurry. In a move of extreme yet enjoyable dorkiness, we entered the progressive trivia contest that went down every afternoon on the cruise. After four days of grueling competition with this husband-and-wife team who called themselves “S & M,” we got silver and they got gold! S & M are at the left, and there we are on the right, proudly wearing our Royal Caribbean silver medals (who knew they made those???). Of course we promptly removed them after taking this picture.
And that’s all folks! Happy wishes of balmy weather to all of you!
