Winter Skin Care Essentials

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Carmex. All opinions are 100% mine.

All of the sudden it got really cold. It became necessary to make sure I was always carrying a few things: a scarf, a chai tea latte, and everything and anything to keep my skin from succumbing to the horrors of winter.
Ā

My skin must haves for this bitter weather are chapstick and lotion and I cannot get enough of them. And after years of suffering with cracked lips and dry hands and noses, trying out different brands, I think I’ve found the product I can trust to help me get through this season — Carmex.
Ā
I tested out a bunch of Carmex products, like the Carmex Healing Lotion and Carmex Healing Cream and was really impressed with their effectiveness. Carmex has long been a name synonymous with lip care, but now they have these lotions and creams which work great.
Ā
The Carmex Healing Lotion was super lightweight but still effective in moisturizing my dry hands. I even felt comfortable using it on my face. The Healing Cream was a thicker formula which nourished my feet and hands. I actually felt like I was fixing the cracks on my skin when I put the cream on my feet — not just temporarily remedying the issue.
Ā
The products — which retail for $5.99 in drugstores  — smelled both clean and fresh, and the scent didn’t compete with the smell of perfume which I consider to be a bonus. I don’t really like scented lotions.
Ā
I also tried a variety of lip products. The moisture plus stick was the closest I like to come to lip gloss — so it was my ā€˜going out’ chapstick. The squeeze tube was the one I applied all day — it provided a gentle tint and I could feel it working on my lips! I tend to like the feeling of squeeze-tube style chapstick best, but when I tried the stick type in a yummy cherry I felt like it stuck to my lips a little better.
Ā

Now I have new essentials in my giant purse at all times: the on-the-go healing lotion mini-bottle and one…or three…varieties of chapstick that’s moisturizing and protecting me all day long. I feel set to walk outside in the cold!
Ā
I want to share these great products with my Her Campus readers — keep your eyes out for a giveaway of a kit containing a ton of Carmex products!!
