What it Means to “Wear the Pants”

I hate shopping for pants.  At 5’1”, finding pants that fit in length and in the body is a grueling process, but a necessary evil.  It usually involves spending a bit of money to get the fit, and then even more to get them hemmed and adjusted.  My history with pants made me a little wary to participate in LOFT’S “Wear the Pants” campaign, but I thought I’d give it a shot.  I couldn’t have been more excited or surprised when I slipped the LOFT Marisa Modern pants out of the box, put them on, and they fit…. perfectly.

As a senior in college, I could never have too many articles of business casual clothing.  Finding the perfect pair of pants to add to this wardrobe is a constant process. They need to be well-made to last a long time, comfortable, neutral and cute.  That’s exactly what these pants are. I actually wore them for the rest of the day after my morning photoshoot with a few of my friends (who also loved the pants!).  I felt classy, pretty and ready to do whatever my day asked of me.  That is the kind of confidence your pants should give you all the time.

“Wearing the pants” means taking control of my future and accomplishing all of my goals.  It means leaving the Heights in a few short months, heading out into a world full of possibility and making the most of every opportunity that comes my way.  It means giving back to the world, doing what is asked of me and being a woman for others.  It means looking great, feeling great and, most importantly, being great.

Thanks to LOFT for allowing me to “Wear the Pants” – I plan on doing so for a long, long time!
