This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Brandeis chapter and does not reflect the views of Her Campus.

Based on the two story high piles of snow covering campus and the masses of students bundled up in their warmest jackets and scarves, I’m sure anyone would be shocked to hear that spring is only a mere month away. Although I h
ave really enjoyed the perks of this harsh winter… I mean who doesn’t love numerous snow days and sipping on a warm tea at Einsteins? I am definitely ready to embrace the warmer weather and to finally feel inspired to wear an outfit that does not contain the colors black and gray. In the meantime, why not think ahead and at least start mentally preparing your wardrobe for the lovely months of sunshine and skirts.

Orange has never been a color that has occupied a great deal of space in my wardrobe, however after reading Cupcakes and Cashmere’s post, which was purely devoted to the color, I have started to warm up to the possibility of investing in a few citrusy pieces this spring. I like the idea of wearing one article of orange clothing at a time because the color is rather bright. Pairing it with a simple floral top makes for the perfect marriage between print and solid. One of the looks I have my eye on… this cute tailored skirt (Price: $70) from Top Shop that is guaranteed to accentuate your hourglass figure.

Even at the SAG awards, Sarah Hyland looked stunning in her Alberto Makali dress, proving that such a bold color can make for a lovely and understated ensemble without making you look like an Orange Julius.

Whip out the flared jeans because Seven For All Man Kind wants you to know that the seventies are back. These light wash wide leg jeans (Price: $198) are nice because they have the power to mak any woman look like they have long legs and a small waist, which makes this cut a winner in my book.

Pair them with a nice floral blouse, (a spring staple), like the one pictured here (Cost: $28) and you are ready to go to the disco, well maybe a more fashionable disco.

I’m rather addicted to nail polish, so these new hues from Deborah Lippmann, nail polish extraordinaire, are incredibility understated yet a fun accent to any spring outfit, specifically the one featured in this article.

Although spring has not quite yet sprung, perhaps if you find yourself bored over break, try starting to acquire these key pieces for your wardrobe. You definitely do not want to come back to campus looking unprepared and not in your flares!

P.S. Wondering what I wore for Fashiontine’s day?

I took the que from Taylor and the Jennifers and went for a look inspired by them…
