Without a doubt when you think of great duos there are certain ones that instantly come to mind – peanut butter and jelly, Sonny and Cher, Cory Matthews and Shawn Hunter (the ultimate Bromance).  Depending on your romantic status, you might have spent your Valentine’s Day as part of a duo (with your significant other) or with the most appetizing duo ever – Ben & Jerry’s.

There’s no doubt that the music industry has embraced the principle “the more the better.”  It’s now popular for two solo-artists (or more in some cases) to combine their talents into “super groups” with unique sounds.  This past fall, I saw Blackstar (a combo of Mos Def and Talib Kweli) at the House of Blues in Boston and paid witness to this unique dynamic.  Each was able to build off the other in a layered way that added something more to the whole and made it so much better.  So, while these songs may not be a pint of “Cherry Garcia,” they are guaranteed to be equally as satisfying (not to mention more forgiving on your waistline).

“Definition” – Blackstar
“Hands” – The Raconteurs
“As We Enter” – Damien Marley & Nas
“Just Pretend” – The Bens
“That Good” – Snoop Dogg & Wiz Khalifa
“Tales of Brave Ulysses” – Cream
