Lime Crime Makeup Releasing “Pop Romance” Shades

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at USC chapter.

One of the reasons I really love Lime Crime Makeup is because of the bold colors. Their tagline is “So bright – it’s illegal!” Not only do they carry the bright colors I love, but the makeup is actually good quality so I don’t mind paying the $16 for it. It also comes in adorable packaging – bright pink with holographic unicorns.

Lime Crime’s “Candyfuture” lipstick line launched online in Fall 2009. The first lipstick I bought was their bubblegum-blue “No She Didn’t.” I remember the first time I wore it people gave me funny looks.  Then again, I also drew bright fuchsia hearts on my cheeks!

Other LC lipsticks I have:

  • My Beautiful Rocket: A luminous orange without annoying red undertones
  • Retrofuturist: Bright, shiny red – it looks just like Snow White’s lip color
  • Airborne Unicorn: A soft, medium purple with a neon note
  • D’Lilac: A pretty lavende

That being said, I’m excited for their new “Pop Romance” lipsticks. Three shades are being released on March 7:

These shades are perfect for spring and I imagine them working really well with whatever your fashion style. I’m just dying to try on “Mint to Be.”

If you’re looking for something to turn heads, these will definitely do the trick! Even better, there are tons of tutorials on the site. Lime Crime also carries high-pigment “magic dusts” for your eyes. They’re super glittery and pretty and really add for a dramatic look.

I have total respect and admiration for Lime Crime Makeup founder Doe Deere. She is a self-made woman who never gave up on her dreams and created a world of fabulous color. On their site, it says: Lime Crime is the color revolution. It’s about challenging the norm, doing things your way – and getting away with it! Our dare-to-wear cosmetics boast an unmatched color payoff so you can create looks as vivid and unique as you are.

So if you’re looking for something that truly represents who you are– see what colors suit you and get what you like!
