Hey Collegiettes™!
Spring break has arrived! Though I thought this horrific week (thanks midterms) would never end, in just two short days I will be cruising (literally) around the Caribbean. As excited as I am, the thought of being in a bikini doesn’t necessarily make me want to shout for joy.
Though I can’t say that I am going to be 100% confident come beach time, I can say that only three days into the SELF Jump Start Diet I already feel like I am heading towards a more confident new me!
My advice to all of you Collegiettes™ out there nervously watching the calendar creep towards spring break, don’t get discouraged or try a fad diet. Eating healthy and exercising are the best and only ways to get that great beach bod. If you haven’t already, sign up for the SELF Jump Start Diet and I promise you will be feeling more fit and confident in no time!
So here is how my day went:
For breakfast I had two whole grain frozen waffles with almond butter and honey. Starting to see a trend? What can I say, I am a creature of habit and in love with this breakfast!
Since I have been running around all day trying to get things organized for spring break, I grabbed a Subway 6” turkey sub on wheat bread with apples and Lays® Light Original Potato Chips. If you haven’t tried the Lays® Light potato chips yet, I highly recommend them! I usually steer clear of chips in order to cut out extra calories, but a single serve bag of these is only 75 calories and you won’t be able to taste the difference!
I snacked on a Cascadian Farm Vanilla Crisp Granola Bar today after class. These bars are so yummy and organic! I also had a fabulous work out today, 50 minutes on the elliptical and then some weights and abs. Since I didn’t have time to hit the gym yesterday, it felt great to get some exercise in.
For dinner I had a scrumptious Spicy Tuna Cucumber Roll made with brown rice with tofu and veggie miso soup both from Whole Foods. Disclaimer: I have a bit of a love affair with Whole Foods, especially their sushi, so you might want to get used to hearing about it.
Dessert: Nothing so far and I am hoping to keep it that way for tonight. But with my sweet tooth, you never know when a chocolate craving will crop up!
What are your plans for spring break? If any of you happen to be going on a cruise and want to share tips on how to stay on track while bombarded by all you can eat buffets leave me a comment or email me at waltam8@wfu.edu. I would love to hear your stories!
