With March underway the snow is starting to melt away, and with it: the winter blues. Patches of green are appearing on the Quad, leaves are budding, and students overall are feeling much livelier. (Though, admittedly, this could have something to do with Spring Break right around the corner.) Campus is bursting with life again.
We have compiled a list of signs that spring has come to UChicago. What are some of your favorite signs? Let us know in the comment box below!
Signs that spring has arrived
- People smile at each other rather than scowl at the pavement in the quads.
- No more boots! At last, your toes can take a breather!
- You can see the beautiful, luscious, green grass again. Ditch the library. Sunbathe anyone?
- You get mud all over your feet—but hey, it’s better than slush, right?
- You laugh quietly (or overtly) when you see the “Hell Does Freeze Over” shirt on someone’s back because it no longer applies to the UChicago life.
- Floral skirts, spring dresses and bright colors make a blessed return
- And puffy winter coats return to the cave (i.e. closet).
- Say goodbye to looking like a marshmallow!
- There are even more pesky little squirrels running around your feet and trying to make you trip.Â
- No more static shock or flaking skin from ridiculously dry winter air.
- Classes seem less morose.
- People start showing more skin (oh la la!).
